This was my first Sentinel. I've always liked how they looked. Saw it at the shop for $20 and figured, what the hell.

My first impressions were, after buying it was, 'wow, that's much smaller than I thought.' I know it's not a Knight or Titan, but it's tiny. Most people I've seen play 40k don't play Guard, so it's rare that I get to see these in action in a Batrep. I went for the rule of cool. They look cool, so I bought one. Simple.

Construction.

Things would've went a bit easier for me if I had the right sized magnets when I started building it. Any more I do will have better magnet work. Also, benefit from the experience of making this one. It was very easy to assemble. Since I magnetized, I have weapons options. My next ones will have magnets so i can twist the torso some. Didn't think about that until I had closed up the torso and didn't want to fight things.

Painting.

I painted it in a NATO scheme of NATO Green, NATO Black, and NATO Brown. Tamiya paints.

The plasma effect was White base, clear blue over it. Both Tamiya.

Reds, Vallejo Red. Metals-Citadel range.

Shades. Again this didn't come out quite how I hoped, so next time I'm just gonna do the Citadel Shades on it. Compared to the oils, it's a MUCH faster drying time.

The Base. This came out much better than I ever thought (except for the whole backwards feet debacle). I really like it. It was a pain (In steps and such), but worth it I think. I hope I can get something close to this with the Citadel shades for the next one. I'd like a group of 3.

In addition, with going to the Citadel Shades, I think I'm going to pick up some Vallejo NATO colors for brush painting. The Tamiya paints did work, but they had been so thinned down by my previous airbrushing use of them, that it was tedious using them for brush work.

The burnt exhausts didn't turn out as good as I hoped, but they're good enough. I can live with them.

Decals.

The numbers were from an old 1/144 WWII German MAUS kit from Dragon (?). They were very old. But these worked. The first set disintegrated once on the model. The 'Key' emblem is from an aftermarket 1/48 decal sheet for a Panzer IV. 1.SS Pz.Abt. If you've ever seen the movie "Kelly's Heroes," the tiger in there I think is supposed to be from this unit. It has the key, not not the shield. I've always been a big fan of that movie and so I put the decals on my IG units. I also think it looks cool.

Eventually, I should figure out an organization order for my IG.

Anyhoo, hope you liked.

Cheers!
